Try to remove the reverse gear from the safety car and see what happen?

maybe a modified plugin can help you to see what the Safety Car does
attached you will find a plugin and the X-Smem reader
Car 104 will be the SC in the SCORE tab
you can see there his revs,fuel (unfortunatly stopped adding more data like gear etc)

Very good idea!
I now know that the engine gets started when the safetycar is called out on track 188.5 rpm (0 rpm before that)
control: 1
inPits: 1
Fuel is about the same as other cars, and tire compound 2 is used.
After a little while engine gets turned off

I tried move the safetycar, but no difference sadly.
By the way, to enable the full course yellow I:
force 00D79480 to value 1
set 00d79660 to value 82 (way too low probably, but good for testing)
and, as I said not move the car. Full course yellow is called immediately after the start, and after the cars have completed 1 lap they line up and the safetycar tries to get out.
I have tried different things like using gtr2 safetycar files, added fuel, added a talent file for the driver (and it is used by the game)
I have also hex edited in value 1 as a selectable value the same way as for pitcrew detail etc, but the game still wants to set full course yellows to 0.
I think the function that resets the value to 0 is at 004da0d0 but it is not easy to analyze.

Try a track converted from Gtr2 as the standard race 07 track does not have safety car start position.
